Welcome to the BESAR Blog site

The Box Elder County Sheriffs Search and Rescue is an all volunteer, non-profit oganization that operates under the direction of our Sheriff.
Founded as a Jeep patrol, we have since grown and changed with the times to include OHV, ATV, UTV, and snowmobile operators who are all training in first aid, and wilderness rescue techniques including some high angle rope rescue.
We work with and are thankful for our partner teams , the BESCUBA, Lifeflight and Air Med crews, DPS, city and county fire and police agencies, Rocky Mountain Rescue dogs, and anyone else who asks.
This site will also grow and change as we add our favorite pictures and stories so please post comments and questions if you like.

Keeping up on the Training

Several of our members recently attended a Winter Survival Seminar hosted by Weber County's S&R team. We had a great time learning about using snow anchors and avalance beacons, studying the science of snow, and building our own Pepsi can alcohol burning survival stoves.

as you can see from the pictures we couldn't have asked for a better weekend. Thanks to all the Weber guys that made for a great weekend.
